Food diary

Add what you eat to breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks and see your day add up against the daily values. Foods, recipes from our site, and the recipes and meals you build in the recipe builder all work. Kept in this browser only.

Each recipe or meal keeps the numbers it had when you added it, so changing a recipe later never changes a past day. To build your own meal from recipes, use the recipe builder.

          How it works

Each food's weight in grams is multiplied by its nutrients per 100 g from the USDA data. A recipe counts by servings (or grams: one serving weighs the recipe's total grams divided by its servings), with the numbers from its ingredients. Everything you add is summed for the day and compared with the FDA Daily Values on the US food label, set for an adult eating 2,000 kcal a day; your own needs may differ.

When a food has no data for a nutrient, it is not counted as zero: the total says how many ingredients had data. These numbers are estimates for learning, not a diagnosis or a diet plan.

Nothing leaves your device: there is no account and no server copy. Clearing your browser's site data deletes the diary, and it does not follow you to another phone or computer.
